| Do Your Own Party GARDEN PARTY INVITATIONS Send invitations two weeks before the party date. Make sure you suggest play clothes be worn for this outdoor gardening party. Send personalized Daisy party invitations, or make your own with card stock paper. Cut flower shapes and write... You're invited to Bloomin' Fun Birthday! Add party details. If hand delivery is possible, attach the card to a silk flower. Tip: Scrap booking centers and craft stores may have flower shaped die-cuts to make your invitations even easier! GARDEN PARTY DECORATIONS If weather permits, have the table and party outdoors. A picnic table covered with a water proof, checkered table cloth add a vase of fresh flowers for a centerpiece. Make fun flower place settings for each child: Fill a mini terracotta pot with green jelly beans and a silk daisy. If time allows, write names or decorate the pots with permanent craft pens. A SPECIAL WELCOME Upon arrival, give each guest their own apron & gardening hats. Make them before the party by decorating inexpensive plastic visors with paint markers (craft store). Follow the package instructions for drying time. Personalize It! Personalized items make a great addition to every party theme. FLOWER GARDEN PARTY GAMES AND ACTIVITIES Play gardening games before the gardening/planting activities. What Am I? A flower or Vegetable guessing game. Tape seed packet pictures to the back of each guest. They receive clues from the other players to guess which flower they are. Gardening Relay Races Dive children into teams to play any of these relay race ideas: Watering Can Water Relay - use a small plastic watering can to move water from one bucket to another. Fill The Vase Relay - Teams transport a bouquet (one bloom at a time) from a bucket to a vase Dirt Shoveling Relay - use a kid safe shovel to carry dirt from a pile to a bucket. Stick the Bee on the Flower Play like Pin the Tail on the Donkey. Before the party, draw a simple daisy on poster board and make some bees, ladybugs or butterflies with paper or craft foam. On party day, write the children's names on each BEE and add double stick tape for playing. Flower Child Use kids-safe face paint to draw a flower on the cheek of each guest. Enlist a teenager or two for this job. Planting Time Depending on the age of the children, you may want to enlist helpers for this activity. Provide a terracotta/plastic pot, soil, large spoon or trowel and a marigold flower for each child. Write names on the bottom of the pots before planting. Show the children how to place the soil in the pots, gently remove the plant from it's container, loosen roots, add soil etc. We chose marigolds because they are hardy and easy to care for. Decorate Your Own Plant Stake Use blank plastic plant stakes from a gardening center and permanent gel pens or paint pens. The kids will decorate the stake and add them to their plants. PARTY FAVORS Fill gardening gloves, watering cans or flower pots with a packet of seeds, kids gardening gloves, flower shaped gummi candies and stickers.
